About

In July 2010, I graduated from the City of Bristol College with a full qualification in Furniture Production. Also, in that same month, I have successfully exhibited several pieces at two different exhibitions in Bristol (see News page), with an aim to exhibiting at future events. In the years before I started this course, I obtained a similar qualification in Carpentry & Joinery, where I have also worked as both a domestic, second-fix carpenter and bench joiner.

I got in to woodwork by accident, really… In 2003, I completed my A-levels but wasn’t sure where to go next. I took some advice and decided to learn a trade, as something to fall back on at the very least. Carpentry offered the greatest appeal (having previously worked part-time in a timber yard) and, from then on, I developed a interest and love for woodworking, which is something I never found at school. As my new hobby developed in my spare time at home, I thought about the possibilities of making furniture for a living – and here I am today; living the dream!

I’m also known as a regular contributor to British Woodworking magazine and have been writing for them since 2008.
